“God’s Design”
The solar system was born some 4.6 billion years ago:
Eight planets orbiting a gigantic sun.
Jupiter, the planet that nearly became a sun itself.
Saturn, with its enormous, beautiful rings.
Mars, where life may have existed long ago.
Venus, familiar to us as the morning star and evening star.
And our very own Earth, third planet in the system.
Located at its perfectly balanced distance from the sun,
Earth gave birth to an explosion of life.
The Earth gives us life,
But how did we come to be?
God designed the solar system,
And brought forth a myriad of life on Earth.
The quest to know his purpose—to seek his answers—
That is the mission we have been given.
The answers he entrusts to our good sense.

太陽系は約46億年前に誕生したという
巨大な太陽の周辺に8個の惑星
太陽になりそこなったといわれる木星
巨大な輪を持つ美しい土星
大昔は生命が存在したと思われる火星
宵の明星、明けの明星と親しまれた金星
そして太陽系第三惑星こそ私たちの地球
太陽から絶妙な距離にあるからこそ
爆発的に生命が誕生した
私たちは、その地球に生かされている
何ゆえに人間は誕生したのか
神は太陽系をデザインし
地球に数多くの生命を誕生させた
その目的を探求し答えを求めるのが
私たちに与えられた使命なのだ
その答えは人間の良識に任されている
