“Magic Land”
The word ‘magic’
Sounds both fascinating and wicked
Does such power really exist?
Jesus Christ made the blind see
And the lame walk again
Turned water to wine, multiplied bread,
And raised Lazarus from the grave
In a series of miracles that seemed like magic
In Buddhism, Shakyamuni Buddha
Was able to use six supernatural powers:
Physical mastery, such as teleportation (jinsokutsū)
Divine hearing (tennitsū)
Telepathy (tashintsū)
Knowledge of previous lifetimes (shukumyōtsū)
Clairvoyance (tengentsū)
And elimination of mental intoxicants (rojintsū)
The kanji 佛 in佛陀 (Buddha) means ‘not a human’
A peerless being who understands the mystery of the macrocosm
A person who had become enlightened, a ‘sage’
Possesses power that ordinary people lack
However, to seek that power for its own sake
Is very dangerous
There is a dark side to the ‘Force’
That appears in the movie Star Wars
Once you are drawn into it, escape is not easy
A mysterious power like magic does exist
But we should be aware that seeking it out
For the sake of self-actualization
Always involves a risk
「魔法の国」
魔法という言葉には
魅力的な響きと邪悪な響きを感じる
果たして、そんなチカラが存在するのか
聖書のイエス・キリストは
目が見えない人を見えるようにしたり
足の悪い人を歩けるようにしたり
水をワインに変えたり、パンを増やしたり
死んだラザロを生きかえらせたりと
魔法のような奇跡のオンパレードだ
仏教でも釈迦牟尼仏は
「神足通」「天耳通」「他心通」「宿命通」
「天眼通」「漏尽通」の六神通があったとされる
また佛陀の佛は、人に非ずという意味
大宇宙の神秘を悟った唯一無二の存在
いずれにしても
覚者とか賢人といわれるような人物は
常人ならざるチカラを秘めている
しかし、そのチカラのみを求めるのは
非常に危険である
スターウォーズに登場する「フォース」
暗黒面のフォースは邪悪なエネルギー
一度取り込まれたら抜け出すのは容易でない
奇跡とも思える神秘的なチカラはある
しかし自己実現のみを求めるチカラには
必ず危険が伴うことを知ることだ
