179 Peace of Mind

“Peace of Mind”

Calm and collected, without a single worry.
Having neither too much nor too little.
Purposeful but not possessive, adaptable but not ambivalent.

Peace of mind is that state of balance.

Guarding yourself against the world is no way to maintain peace of mind.
The more defensive your posture, the more corrupted your spirit.
A corrupted spirit isn’t capable of good judgment.

Your spirit takes in all of life’s happenings,
But to a twisted spirit the intake, too, is twisted.
To an unsettled spirit the intake is confused.

To absorb events properly,
The spirit must be calm and even-keeled.
The very act of recognizing events properly
Endows the spirit with the gift of good judgment.

The ingredients in peace of mind are
A sense of values founded on truth
And the grit of will power.
