“Doubt Common Knowledge”
Is common knowledge correct?
Is it common knowledge because it is correct?
Sculpted by the era and the environment it came from,
Common knowledge can’t be defined as ‘correct’
Common knowledge is just that: common
A wise man knows to doubt it
Things we accept as obvious
And things we take for granted
Could be wrong
Copernicus and Galileo, Bohr and Einstein
Were wise men who defied common knowledge
To show us a new view of the world and the cosmos
Without question, science developed human society
And made this world a pleasant place to live
But it has also obscured the truth from us
To say that Gods and faith are the common knowledge of bygone eras
And that people today can live without them
Is to spread ignorance
Is it really true?
Wise men are always questioning
While fools cling to common knowledge
Evolution means
That people move closer to the truth,
Instead of fleeing from it

常識は正しいのか
正しいから常識なのか
常識は時代背景や
生活環境から生まれたもので
正しいと定義するものではない
常識は常識でしかない
賢者は常識を疑う
当然だと思われていること
当たり前だと思われていることは
疑っていいのだ
コペルニクスやガリレオ
ボーアやアインシュタイン
常識を壊して新しい世界観や宇宙観を
人類に提示した賢者だ
確かに、科学は人類を進化させ
この世を住みよい世界にしてくれた
その反面、人類を真理から遠ざけた
神や信仰は古い時代の常識で
そんなものはなくても人類は生きていける
そう考える愚者が増えたのだ
果たしてそれは正しいのか
賢者は常に常識を疑う
愚者は常識にしがみつく
進化とは
人類が真理に近づくことであり
遠ざかることではない
