416 Deep Breath Part 2

“Deep Breath Part 2”

Feel joy during the happy times,
Feel anger if something is unforgivable,
Feel sadness over unfortunate events,
Feel pleasure for enjoyable experiences.

Joy, anger, sadness and pleasure,
These are human emotions.

Joy and pleasure are emotions of the moment,
They are engraved in our souls as good memories.
Sadness is healed by time.
Anger is a little different.

There are two types of anger, righteous indignation and personal resentment.
Righteous indignation is fury against societal injustices and wrongdoings.
It can also be seen as anger toward social injustice.
Personal resentment is anger directed at unjust attacks or bullying.
This can easily turn into grudges and a desire for revenge,
Giving rise to negative thoughts in the mind.

When anger wells up in our hearts,
Our breathing becomes shallow and quick.
When this happens, take a deep breath to calm your mind.
Take a deep, full breath,
Exhale slowly, focusing on your abdomen.
Taking a walk in a quiet place is also a good idea.
Gradually your mind will calm down.

It is difficult to maintain a balanced mind.
However, we can improve our chances with simple breathing techniques.
This is another form of wisdom.

嬉しいことがあれば喜び
許せないことがあれば怒り
不幸なことがあれば哀しみ
面白いことがあれば楽しむ

それが喜怒哀楽
人間の感情だ

喜びや楽しみはひと時の戯れ
良き想い出として魂に刻まれる
哀しみは時間が癒してくれるが
怒りの感情は少し違う

怒りには公憤と私憤がある
公憤は社会の不正や不義への憤慨
これは社会正義への憤りでもある
私憤は理不尽な攻撃やいじめへの怒り
これは恨みや復讐心に転じやすい
心に悪想念を生じやすい

心に怒りが湧き上がると
呼吸は浅くそして早くなってくる
そんな時は深呼吸で心を整えてみよう
深く大きく息を吸い込み
ゆっくり吐き出す腹式呼吸をしてみる
静かな場所での散歩もいいだろう
徐々に心は落ち着いてくる

心のバランスを保つのは難しい
それでも簡単な呼吸法で改善できる
これもひとつの智慧である
