The purpose of life is to live.
This message, in all its variety, is cleverly concealed
In the workings of Nature.
Nature is plain and pure, without pretense.
People, on the other hand, cannot help but pretend.
Likes and dislikes, excuses and lies …
A myriad of emotions crisscrossing in a tangled web—
That is the human experience.
Though a part of Nature, we stray from her, too.
There’s a thought I have from time to time…
The nature of Buddha exists in every living thing.
When the heart aches with worry or anguish,
When there seems no path forward, no way out…
Those are the times I turn my ear, openly and willingly, to Nature’s message.
「山川草木悉皆成仏」
人生の意味、生きる目的
あらゆるメッセージが自然の営みの中に
巧みに隠されている
自然の営みはありのままで、偽りがない
しかし、人間はありのままでいられない
好きとか嫌いとか、言い訳とか嘘とか…
さまざまな感情や思いが交錯し
複雑に絡み合うのが人間
人間も自然の一部だが、自然から逸脱している
時には思い浮かべることだ
あらゆる生命には仏性が宿るということを
苦悩という心の痛み、問題という袋小路…
壁にぶつかった時こそ
自然のメッセージに素直に耳を傾けてみる
