Why do we fight, why do we hate?
We know the folly of war, yet do it over and over.
As the weapons of war advance,
Its brutality advances even faster.
The development of nuclear weapons was the pinnacle of terror.
A weapon that, in an instant, takes countless lives—
Consider how that reverberates even to the soul,
How a nuclear bomb injures this very essence of human life.
It is the devil’s weapon.
Along with advances in technology,
Advances in lethal weapons are striking,
With evermore refined function, design, and destructive power.
Beauty is perceived in this refined form.
It is a haunting legacy of our technology-laden lives:
Weapons built for the purpose of killing people.
No matter how we glorify the weapons to come,
We glorify nothing but beauty in terror.

人類の歴史から戦争が消えたことはない
なぜ戦うのか、なぜ憎しみ合うのか
戦争は愚行だと知りつつも繰り返すのはなぜか
人類の戦いは武器の進歩により
残虐性は加速度を増す
殊に核兵器の発明により恐怖は頂点を極めた
一瞬にして多くの生命を奪う
その影響は魂にまで及ぶことを知ってほしい
人間の生命の本質である魂まで傷つける核は
悪魔の兵器なのだ
テクノロジーの進化とともに
殺人兵器である武器の進化も著しい
機能性、デザイン性、破壊力…
洗練されたフォルムには美を感じることさえある
科学の先端技術が搭載された人類の負の遺産
人間を殺すことを目的とした武器
どれほど素晴らしい武器が誕生しようが
それは恐怖の美でしかない
