“The Nature of Kindness”

Kindness is a feeling sought
By a woman from a man, by a man from a woman.
Whenever and wherever, we all seek kindness.
In the relentless, competitive rat race in which we live,
Kindness fills our need for soothing comfort.

There are many types of kindness.
Kindness that masks deception, or kindness for show—
These are the scheming types of kindness.

With true kindness,
You believe in the other person in your heart.
It’s a strength of spirit that transcends all.
It’s a parent believing in their child.
At the same time, there are cruel, unyielding types of kindness, too.

When dealing with someone, what is their daily bread?
We should take pains to understand what nourishes their soul,
With the wisdom to judge right from wrong, cause from effect.
In that lies true kindness.
